Olkaolka: it's vintage from the 70's/80'. It was popular, widely available and inexpensive ( in the UK at least ) I wore it from about 79 as a teenager.
The white can I think is late 70's and the glass a little later - I've owned both since then but can't be absolutely sure of exactly when, as I'm getting old :,-) Prior to these, it also came in plainer splash and atomiser bottles in similar, checked pattern boxes, earlier ones were in various colours: I have a blue on but have seen red and green, too. However, the brown checked one was the most common.
I think it was discontinued by the 90's as I can't remember seeing it after them but is still available in Australia where it was relaunched in a modern, frosted bottle and pastel pink check box. I don't know if the scent is still the same ? The original was considered sweet at the time but is far from it by today's standards - I don't like sweet, gourmand frags at all ! It start s slightly fresh but dries down to a powdery, vanilla.
