🔥🧬 Happy Fragrance Friday! 🧬🔥
I remembered a story I’d heard and gave it a quick search while writing this. In India, hunters once tried to lure out a man-eating tigress, reportedly involved in 13 incidents, by using Calvin Klein Obsession for Men. Because of the civetone, which is like the scent of animals a tiger might hunt. Sadly, it didn’t work… maybe they should’ve tried the ladies' version; CK Obsession, today’s feature. Would’ve made for a cooler ending. 🐅🎯
**The scent: **I like to think a truly great fragrance is one both me and my mother could wear. This is one of those. While originally marketed to women in the ’80s, nowadays with Angel’s Share, BR540, or certain TFs, some of these vintage ladies' powerhouses feel straight-up masculine. And Obsession? It’s dramatic and potent. The mesmerizing spices laid over warm amber and dry vanilla. Even my newer batch has a slight musky animalic edge, but I can only imagine how wild the original must’ve been. 💪🖤
The photo:Usually, I try to match the pic to the scent. This time? I thought the bottle looked like some kind of alien spaceship power core, so I went with sci-fi. Let’s consider it "period correct", E.T., Alien, and Star Wars all dropped just a few years before Obsession did. 🚀💥
Hope you like it! What’s your favourite fragrance from the ’80s? 👾💭
