Very good, pleasant green scent
So, got this is as my first Bond No. 9 fragrance after debating between this and Bleecker Street. Ultimately I went with Beekman Place. Here is why:
This scent opens fresh, quite green with a basil note. It has that synthetic, thick Bond No.9 identity going for it which you can find in Lafayette Street or Bleecker Street. I am not saying that they smell smelling similar, just the way the scent is build and structured clearly shows a "house signature" which I like.
Beekman Place, at least to me, is not your summer high-heat freshie. To me, its more of a casual grabber for autumn and fall, in my case even winter. It is very easy to wear, very pleasant, detectable with quite good longevity without being too loud. It smells very clean but not in the soapy, Imagination-like cleanness but rather like a clean cool morning in a herbal garden with fresh basil. It is undoubtedly green and does this with a very modern twist and not like thise more classic hyper-masculin green scents like Green Irish Tweet. This one is masculine for sure, but much more modern with that thick Bond No. 9 basis.
I on purpose limit myself to only 15 fragrances to make things more interesting. It forces me to not just accumulate fragrance after fragrance (way too common in this hobby) but really think, compare, benchmark, rank and then take a decision for one fragrance over another. I say this so you guys understand that Beekman Place won its spot for my winter casual scent against more than 10 competitors. Yeah, i said winter because i own 1 a green fragrance in my winter collection to balance all those heavy, sweet fragrances.
Bottomline: I can absolutely recommend BP if you are looking for an easy to wear, casual, green-fresh scent with an aromatic base. BUT, please do not pay retail...i paid around 280 for a full bottle versus the 400+ retail price.
I hope this helps
